When should you brush your baby's teeth?

You can brush your baby's teeth as soon as that first tooth pokes through the gums. Use a soft, silicone finger brush to gently wipe clean the first teeth and the front of the tongue, after meals and at bedtime.

Help brushing go smoothly and begin building good habits with these Mushie Silicone Fingerbrushes. They slip over the top of your finger to allow you to gently brush your baby's teeth and gums.

They are 100% BPA-free, chemical-free, and made from food grade silicone. The bumps on the back assist with sore, teething gums while the bristles on the front keep your baby's teeth clean.

Pediatric dentists recommend using the fingerbrush moistened with water and no more than a rice-grain size smear of fluoride toothpaste and suggest to start brushing gums and teeth at first signs of teeth emerging.

Use a rice-grain-sized smear of toothpaste for your baby or toddler, graduating to a pea-sized dollop by age 3.

Don't worry if your baby swallows some of the toothpaste (as they almost certainly will). In such a small quantity, it won't cause any damage. Starting in the second year, you can teach your toddler to spit after brushing.

When your baby is teething and their gums are sore and tender a Silicone Fingerbrush will be gentle.
